Getting Old is Rough

We are old enough to start messing up and young enough to know it.  Argh!!

This past weekend, we were in Kona to attend a wedding.  After checking in, we went to our room.  It was a deluxe ocean view instead of an ocean front that we enjoy.  So I went back down and explained the situation..  I'm told that they could move us a bit closer but no ocean front room was available.  Ok, so we move.  As JJ doesn't have any of the paperwork, we have no way of contesting the situation.  Lesson, always bring documents, even for a local trip.

The next morning, I try to make hot tea but can't get the percolator to work.  Resetting the GFI outlet and the GFI on the plug does not help.  Nada.  Later, the maid asks if  we are Filipino.  We say no.  Then she asks if we want more coffee.  I say no but can she check the percolator.

When we see her later, she tells me that it works fine, just press on the white switch.  So when I try it again, I realize that I plugged in the hair drier instead of the percolator.  How you figguh?

PS:  Also, we got a call from the front desk at about 2:00 p.m. that our reservation was only for one night.  JJ tell them that she is quite sure that she made it for two nights as we came for a wedding and decided to come over one day earlier.  After checking, they called and said that they made an error.  Whew!  Got to bring those documents!  When we got home and checked the paperwork, it was for deluxe ocean view.
